Amazon Rainforest,

is one of the 6 natural regions of Colombia in the southernmost part of the country. This region is lush, dense and tropical, covering 42 percent of Colombia's territory.

The main city in the Colombian Amazon is Leticia, unique place where connecting three countries Brazil, Peru and Colombia. You can visit all these countries without passport, but just in this part of the Amazon.

The main reason to visit this region of Colombia is the Amazon River and the vast rainforests that surround it, full of strange exotic plants and animals. This is an extremely important place for the earth, called the "lungs of the earth".

It is home to the largest variety of freshwater fish on the planet and exotic mammals such as the Amazon river pink dolphin, manatee, jaguar, cougar, giant otter, tapir, capybara, sloth and more. There are also river turtles and the world's largest caimans, large-billed toucans and brightly colored parrots.

One of the most beautiful and representative types of flowers - Victoria leaves - grows in the Amazon River. It is a floating plant with a diameter of 3-5 meters and can withstand a weight of about 40 kilograms.

Villages of local tribes are located next to the river, with unique traditions and a connection with nature. For the natives, nature is not only food and shelter, but also medicine, with which they treat not only physical, but also spiritual diseases. Local healers are shamans who perform rites and ceremonies.

The Amazon is a living pharmacy, home to thousands of plant and animal species that have provided our society with a variety of medicines.

It is a natural treasure that every nature lover must experience.
